Turkey vulture

It is not a " pretty shot", but this vulture can't help it either he does not have the "looks" The lakes have still high water levels in our community/town and not sure if that is the reason we see different birds in our community. Another bird checking out our trees (and the Christmas light).

Nope, certainly not the most beautiful of birds, but they are amazing nonetheless. The more I observe and learn about them the more I love them. Very social, very dedicated to parenting and of course a vital part of our ecological system being such a great "clean up crew'!

we saw lots of turkey vultures when we visited Cape Cod a few years ago - but they were always on the ground and not in the trees. I think this one doesn't look so bad. You showed him well.
