Love the raptors and this guy was one of two who kept together but also kept knocking each other off perches. Not sure if they were courting or siblings or parent and chick.
Year 7 on this adventure! I’m especially appreciative of the community found here! I am inspired by everyone; learning from so many. Your shares make...
@Weezilou thank you, it was fun. It turned out to be one of those days where you take a lot of shots and only a very few cut the mustard :) so thank you.
Awesome photo. Great detail and you really captured his spirit well. I love the raptors too. Quite hard to find them around here. And when I do see one, almost always driving or on the freeway and almostnever have a camera with me that will do them justice. Just yesterday, on my cardio walk, I saw them flying and very close but no appropriate camera.
@maggiemae LOL when they were knocking each other off, the mate flew into a stand of trees to the left of me - and sure enough, he broke the first branch he landed on! It was interesting to see him gracefully 'trip' onto another set of branches! Thank you for your fav - and all your kind words :)
@pusspup from what we could tell, these were Red Tailed Hawks. They are fairly common here, with Red Shouldered and Coopers' Hawks. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed him.
@mbrutus thank you! I'm glad you see them at least, even though driving! I often wonder, when I'm driving and see them, how many others see them? They are so magnificent. I'm happy that I could get this shot to share with everyone. :-)
@taffy@joemuli@dawnee He was truly magnificent. I'm happy that I could share him with you and that he wasn't so high up that he was overwhelmed by the sky. Thank you for your kind comments - I appreciate it! Especially on those days I just don't feel like grabbing the camera... and still do!
@soylentgreenpics@carolmw Thank you for the comments and the faves! Very appreciated and @soylentgreenpics knows, I always think, too many shots - but, just one more :-)
@elatedpixie Yes we do have peregrines and some other raptors but It's the large eagles I love and you would only see them in Scotland - if you were very lucky!!
