California Golden Poppy ~ Poppies Everywhere! by elatedpixie

California Golden Poppy ~ Poppies Everywhere!

These are the flowers that make hills look like they’re made out of iron from a distance. Delicate or fragile on its own but together, strong. An analogy is in there somewhere. We’ve made it through Wednesday and we’re closer to the weekend!
Almost a painterly look at this poppy but I can see it isn't! And so well done!

@janeandcharlie @louannwarren @kipper1951 @koalagardens @maggiemae thank you so much for your wonderful comments! It was another windy as heck, trying to get a shot in the few moments of stillness. I really wanted to capture the shadow of the petals overlapping as well as the dew drops on the underside... the light, when the wind was just right, made the dew look almost like sequins but Mother Nature was having none of that captured 😉 thank you too, for the motivation. I posted this before going to sleep with little time left before midnight. It that good kind of pressure called motivation!

Stunning shot, these flowers looks so delicate and feathery in the backlight. I like your picturesque description of the hills "made out of iron"... that must be a wonderful sight.

@lastrami_ thank you. Yes it is amazing to see. The poppies are delicate as one and when there’s a hillside full, they look the opposite. I have only seen the hills like that, off in the distance, recently, because of our rain.

@shutterbug49 thank you so much. It was early enough that the light wasn’t too direct.
