Todays word is "News" - The weather is beautiful while we are all wishing for rain. We went down to the water for a few minutes today - hoping tourist would be on their way home, it was almost 80 degrees Fahrenheit at the water - tourists were kind of heading out - I got to park in my favorite spot (shared a pick of the road from the same spot, last month - totally different scene) and enjoyed the fresh air for maybe 10-15 minutes... tons of birdage - pelicans so lots of anchovies... saw a pod of dolphins and out amidst the boats and lots of paddle boarders and kayakers, up popped the back of a humpback. The one kayaker was clearly surprised. It was beautiful out but a little uncomfortable with so many folks - maybe during the week since the NEWS says we're going to have warmer weather this week. Have a good week - hope you find and share some joy. fyi - the whale, people, pelicans, gulls, dolphins and otters are all fine and happy sharing the same space today - maybe not the anchovies so much since they seemed to be the main draw.

Sooooo cool! I had heard the whales have been close again, must go check it out tomorrow. This is a way coolio image, reminds me of hitting the pier every single day with my peeps a few years ago xo
Oh my goodness what a fabulous image!! To see the whales must be so exciting!! I remember you captures from last year/year before? of the whales in the harbour with the guy on the board!! I want to be there!!
@jernst1779 There was a ton going on - in color it was super distracting and a few other shots the birds overwhelmed. It's totally real - though I want to learn ps terribly so I can come up with some fab shots like lots of others are creating. Thanks - glad you enjoyed it.
@pamknowler Yes! It's similar to a few years back - though this was all I saw. Maybe I'll get out there later this week and see - a few years back it was pure magic. And I never left land! Glad you enjoyed :-) thanks Pam!
@aikiuser That was magical back then! This is all I saw though - it was super cool to watch the dolphins - they were right by the first bouys but way too many peeps. Remember the pier "rocking" and later we found out that it really was?! LOL my fav was that night we all sat next to the cp pier by the cars - we sat for hours that night - that was so magical. xo
