@shutterbug49 thank you. Glad you enjoyed! I have an old Samsung galaxy edge 7. My next is definitely going to be an iPhone. Considering the 12. If you have any recommendations, I'd appreciate the input.

Just comparing camera features. The iphone 12 pro max has the biggest sensor and an optical zoom range of 4X. But it is large (too large for my hands) and priciest. The 12 pro is what I have. It’s great for closeups, low light, portraits but only has 2X optical zoom. 11 pro is a good buy but is getting harder to find. The pro models are the ones with optical zoom. The 12 and 11, without the pro, lack optical zoom so you’re just cropping if you zoom. Hope that helps.

I've been reading articles of one vs the other and have been leaning this way - always better to get a 'real' opinion and I think you've convinced me to take the leap and go for the pro! The promax would probably not get that much use especially knowing it is rather large - I suspect I would be like you and find it too large - thank you again. This information is super helpful!
