wildly beautiful...love the sea spray. Kakapo...what an interesting name...in NZ the Kakapo (Maori for night parrot) is the name of our native parrot which is currently being bought back from the brink of extinction- there have been 11 chicks born so far this year bringing the total number of known kakapo left to 131. do you know what kakapo means in terms of the name of this ship?

@palusami Wonderful information. All I know about the Kapako is that she was en route on her maiden voyage from Britain to Sydney, when the Captain made a mistake and thought he was sailing round cape Point during the night. He then went full steam ahead into the Noordhoek Beach, instead of into False Bay which is where he thought he was.
