Insect on flower

I do not know which insect this is.
Beautiful image Elisabeth, a very striking beetle. I think this is a Bee Beetle (Trichius fasciatus), called that because of it's colouring and also during flight its wings make a buzzing sound like bees. Adult beetles will nibble the flowers of roses and brambles, amongst others, the larvae can be found in rotting birch stumps.

What great detail, Elisabeth. I was trying to decide if this was a bee or beetle then read one of the comments.....it does seem to be a beetle but I've never seen of one like this before. Nice capture!
