Serakunda Market

Serakunda Market situated a little way outside Banjul, the capital of The Gambia, is a blast of colour and bustle. We had to be a little discreet with our cameras because quite a high proportion of stallholders volubly objected. I am happy to stop if specifically asked by individuals.
So colourful! And busy!

The color is fabulous and I can see why you would want to photograph it. Great scene!

@yorkshirekiwi We were told that it was an interpretation of the Islamic faith, which banned the creation of images of sentient beings. Known as aniconism, it is not widely followed apparently.
