Bridge over Loch Ken by ellida

Bridge over Loch Ken

For the 1st time I am uploading via email. The other options have failed. I am currently enjoying a few days away visiting the Galloway south coast.

This Image is of the abandoned Loch Ken railway viaduct at Parton, near Castle Douglas, Dumfries & Galloway, southern Scotland. I had to poke my lens through a metal grating which is there to prevent people from crossing owing to the delapidated state of the bridge structure. Such a shame on several counts.
That is a total shame - in the Peak District many of these old railway lines are walking and cycling routes with cafes in the old stations - very busy cafes. Looks a brilliant place to explore

old railways form such a wonderful network - they should all be accessible [money no object!]. Good work finding a way to post.

Great shot under difficult circumstances. What a shame that it has been left to go to ruin. It would be a lovely place to explore.

@vesna0210 Thanks Vesna. I saw this photo in a cafe and asked the owner where it was taken. I then went there for myself and took this shot.
