Wastwater from on high

A long hike (for me) today over the tops of Irton, Whinrigg and Illgill fells. They (the weathermen) promised a lovely clear day. But what we (there were several hikers up there) got was fog. Not nice delicate mists ...big fat fog :-(
Yes the day was disappointing, really quite foggy here all day. We are hoping to go to Harrogate tomorrow if it’s clearer! Looks a lovely walk though....you got up quite high but no view sadly!

Good photo, sorry about the weather but I like the layers of land and fog.

I thought it was a good morning until I looked at the Windermere web cams - no point going out onto the lake at all!
Great sense of height here!!

Shame about the fog but hopefully you enjoyed your walk anyway

The fog makes for a magical scene, but probably not what you'd had in mind!

Fabulous shot and a better day today, you could always do it again!

I imagine that it would be a spectacular view on a clear day.

Nice foggy shot, we have the same weather here too.

A nice foggy shot but what a shame after all that effort!

It's a great shot even though it was not what you were anticipating.

Looks like you worked hard for this. The fog is very atmospheric even if not what you were after!

Oh you did make me smile! I remember climbing to the top of Great Gable once on a promise of sunshine. The fog was so thick at the top that I sat down and ate my sandwiches next to a sheep and didn't see it was there until it said "baaa!" Nice shot.

I think a little mist can make a shot. I like this.
