Ennerdale Water by ellida

Ennerdale Water

I went to meet a friend today in order to try out his camera. He has a Fujifilm X-T3 and his images have been impressing me for a while.

In truth, I have reached a stage where my kit that I choose to lug around on my walks weighs in at 12kg! Too much. So I have been thinking of mirrorless. This is one of the samples from today.
A lovely scene.

mirrorless seems a good compromise. I went from SLR to compact and have rarely regretted it. Did you use your kit on the same shot to compare?

The fencing draws us into the beautiful landscape. I like the layers from shore to sky.

I had the same dilemma Graham. I love my Nikon D7500, but it's so heavy, especially when lugging around all the lenses. I bought a small Panasonic GX9 just to have in my handbag. I am finding I am using it more and more, and despite vowing NOT to get extra lenses for it, I've already broken it. I am definitely only going to bring the small camera with me when I travel back to the UK in August. I'm finding it so much easier to travel with.

A stunning capture Graham, that seems to be the way to go ;-)

@yorkshirekiwi I looked into that camera Carole and like it. Which extra lenses did you buy?

Such wonderful lighting. Love the ripples in the foreground & the lovely gleam on the water.

I've just bought the Olympus OM-D EM1 mk2 (so far so good). I love my Nikon gear but it's too heavy to travel with.

Yes go mirrorless it’s the way to go! Too much weight is hard! I used to be mirrorless then got sand in my camera....just use m6 iPhone these days but I do miss different lens!
This is a beautiful view of Ennerdale...fave.
