Thistle bee for the nectar by ellida

Thistle bee for the nectar

From a walk in Mitredale.
Looks like he made a nosedive for the nectar... super cool thistle... wonder if any of those spikes get the bees? They are most likely smarty enough to stay away from the spiky parts.

Super capture..that thistle is stunning & the bee is in bee heaven...as long as it avoids those sharp thorns.

The thistle looks magnificent here....the colour of the flower beautiful....I can see why the Scots have taken it for their emblem.....not like the perfectly Weedy looking thistles we used to hate in our cow fields & spent hours sometimes mowing the blighters! The bee Chose well!
