I went to one of the most iconic modern style churches in Malta (Manikata church) to try and shoot a minimalistic picture. The design of the building by Richard England in 1962 coincided with the second Vatican Council reforms. The architectural style breaks away from the traditional Baroque designs.
I got various pictures from different angles and points of view. I put this one up since it captures texture, lines, shapes and light.
I would be interested to know if this qualifies as a minimalist shot!
Absolutely- it's a great minimalist shot. It's also an excellent black and white! Minimalism makes use of negative space to isolate the subject which you have done very nicely here. You also have the added bonus of that area where the light forms a triangle. It acts as a directional that points right to the window but not in an obvious way. I love it.
