This morning I had plans for my grand daughter but my wife asked where was my just-in-time-learning principle. As usual she was right. It all started when I showed Chiara the moon shots and the star trails from yesterday's shoot. She was intrigued by the centre of the star trails and the slightly visible craters of the moon. Then she wanted to have a look at the globe and see how the light shone on it from different angles. So the curtains were drawn and the little one went globe trotting putting the light over the globe and explaining to me how we can see only parts of the sphere except when the light is exactly in front. Then she started to look for places which she knows of like London, Sicily and of course Malta. She also managed to read a number of country names. She was reading Australia in this shot.
I superimposed the star trails from yesterday on this picture which started it all.
