This shot of the lone fisherman at the edge of the waters was taken near the now derelict salt pans at Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq. These salt pans have an interesting history and date back to the Knights of Malta. They are also a reminder of the labour intensive harvesting which, for these particular saltpans, happened twice a year, in August and if the weather permitted another gathering took place in September.
Thanks for that informational link - I found it fascinating. Never would have dreamed, if I had come across this is the Mediterranean area, that these were salt pans and how there were used. Again, I love 365 for the folks, the pictures, and the things I've learned.
I like the composition with the diagonal leading to the fisherman. I also like the timing of your shot vs the fisherman's move in temporary extension, it makes the picture dynamic rather than static.
