Today is my birthday, and I've had a great day. Presents, cards and breakfast then off uptown for a couple of photography exhibitions. Thank you to @nicolaeastwood, @padlock and @steampowered for mentioning Andy Gott's 'Behind the Mask' exhibition at Somerset House - we caught it on the last day, excellent although I wish there was some record of what the subjects felt about their portraits and an idea of why Andy chose the different treatments he did for each image.
Then onto the Natural History Museum for the 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year'. This is one of my favourite museums in London and I never get tired of the building itself. Needless to say I took quite a few photos - here's some other views I posted on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/emmadurnford/sets/72157630961665808/ along with a couple of black and whites.
Happy Birthday Emma, and may you enjoy many more! Sounds as if it was a wonderful day. This museum is stunning, and so is your shot of it; you've included so much in this capture and it all works together so well in a great composition, fav for me! Joshua Bear is beside me as I type this. Will be writing soon--it's just a bit difficult for me, while using the walker, to get to the cupboard where my writing paper, note cards, etc. are.
@danette@iiwi@taz_o Thank you all, it was a lovely day. @tristansmum So glad Joshua Bear is keeping you company… please do not try and write until you are much better. Joshua must keep an eye on you and ensure you do not try anything risky!
