21st June 2014

Today is the Summer Solstice.

It is officially the longest day of the year. Sunset today in Teddington is at 21.22 and if you check out the meta-data you'll see that I managed to take this shot of the Diana Fountain in Bushy Park at exactly 21.22!

It is lovely in the park at this time of the evening. The gates are closed to cars at 21.00 and there are just a few people running, roller blading or walking in the park. The deer wander out from the trees and today I was lucky enough to see a Little Owl swoop across in front of me and then stop and pose just a short distance away. Shame it was too dark for a photo.

Happy Summer Solstice everyone!
This is a fav. Gorgeous evening colours, subtly changing, and interesting silhouettes and reflections. Great shot.

This is just lovely and a fav. Your description of the atmosphere when it was taken (great timing!) made me enjoy it even more.
