12th July 2014

This week seems to have had a garden theme. Today I went to the Hampton Court Flower show with friends and it was hot. It was probably not a good idea to have a jug of Pimms after only half an hour there... it was shared between three of us (not just me), honest.

The gardens are stunning and like Chelsea it is difficult to believe that three weeks earlier there was just grass where now there are amazing gardens complete with water features and even outside kitchens.

It was difficult to choose a single mage but I rather like this ‘Pompom Dahlia’. Here are some more images from the day that I posted on FaceBook if you are able to view them - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.774255015960515.1073741935.186301661422523&type=1
These lovely flowers have such a complete circle - nature is wonderful. Very nice focus and colour!

I love the pattern which dahlia petals make, and this is a lovely example of it. I also looked at some of your other captures--they are lovely, especially the pink lilies.

Excellent shot. Somehow I think you were the major idea merchant for the jug, are you sure about just one.
