Today is the start of the Commonwealth games in Glasgow. There was a very long opening ceremony on television this evening. It was a bit of a mixed bag of events but there were some very good bits. My high point was the fact that ‘Scotty’ dogs were used to escort in the various countries of the Commonwealth wearing little jackets with the name of the country on it.

I tried to get a decent screen shot but I think i is something about the way the broadcast is made that affects the sharpness. This was taken at 1/200 but is still blurred. Still I like the bright colours of the stadium floor which was designed in a groovy sort of tartan pattern and Tonga’s Scotty dog was very well behaved.
I've always loved scotties -- especially when they're wearing little jackets!

The Scotty dogs were a great idea, and I like the blur of your capture; it emphasizes the feeling of motion and activity.
