17th September 2015

Tomorrow we head off to South America. I am feeling rather more stressed than excited as everything that can go wrong has gone wrong so far. There have been luggage strikes at Madrid airport, today a major earthquake in Chile with a mass evacuation from Valparaiso. Heathrow Terminal 5 has a luggage conveyor belt failure last week and most people travelled without their luggage. Colin has had a very bad back which he was concerned could develop into a serious condition although we have been reassured that it is highly unlikely.

I suppose that it could be that everything has gone wrong in advance of our trip so hopefully we will have a trouble free and healthy trip.

I was thinking that todays image would be a close up shot of my suitcase but... nobody can have failed to notice that the Rugby World Cup starts tomorrow in Twickenham. The New Zealand team the ’All Blacks’ are based in the Lensbury Club here in Teddington. By sheer chance as I was walking to Budgens, I noticed the ‘All Blacks’ tour bus. I chatted with the driver and he mentioned that one of the players was inside buying a SIM card. I waited and was rewarded with the sight of the Vice Captain Dan Carter coming out and he kindly posed next to the tour bus. A nice end to the afternoon! ;-)
Wonderful capture of this extremely handsome young man. Bon voyage to you and Colin!

@tristansmum Hello there - I am so sorry that I have not been commenting - it's been a bit hectic here but I really do appreciate your comments. i am sure we'll have a good time once we're out there and our luggage has arrived safely! I'm hoping to try and photograph humming birds which I have never down before but don't expect anything impressive! I'll keep in touch X
