At last - the Hampton Court ice rink is open. It has been shut for many days because the weather has been so warm which is a real shame as hundreds of people must have been disappointed.
It is what makes me feel like Christmas is here when I can go and have a hot chocolate and watch the skaters. I definitely do not skate myself but I love watching other people. This year the children have push along penguins and pandas (would have thought polar bears would be more appropriate?!) - I think I'd give it a go if they had adult push-along versions!
@bizziebeeme I think it's a brilliant idea. I do not skate and my memories of trying consist of clinging to the handrail and hauling my way around! :-)
I love the colour and the motion blur in this. The rink in Nathan Phillips Square here (outside new City Hall) has been out of commission for the same reason. I'm not a skater either, but it can be fun to watch.
