16th September 2016

Sadly this is our last full day in Menorca before we head home tomorrow. It has been a relaxing break and certainly has not gone too quickly. We have seen many of the sites of the island but I wanted to visit one of the oldest sites - ‘Talati de Dalt’. This place is up to 1,000 years BC in places and is somewhat open to interpretation by the archeologists as to the meaning and reason behind many of the structures within the site. The sun was beating down and we were hoping to see some of the 90,000+ tortoises that live on the island but despite their number they still proved to be elusive!

Later the same day we headed further south and discovered a fantastic little bay perfect for snorkeling. By sheer cheek we used the changing rooms and shower of the hotel pool next to the beach (well I did anyway) as well as having lunch there.
