23rd October 2017

Wow - what a location we are in!  It couldn't be more central and is actually amazingly very quiet.  We have breakfast at this hotel and it is an excellent buffet and I have found a fruit juice machine which I have yet to master.

The very first thing we did was to walk over Sydney harbour bridge.  I had not realised that not only does the bridge carry cars also carries trains and pedestrians and people that walk over the top.

After we had walked over the top we walked underneath and enjoyed an ice cream whilst watching a number of Asian weddings being photographed.

Then we continued walking around the Circular Quay area looking at the ferries and onto the Botanic Gardens.

We were tiring a bit by this stage and so decided to stop for a snack for lunch in the gardens and the worlds longest time in making a coffee!  It is quite funny to see the giant Ibis trying to steal the food off of the tables and out of the bins just like our pigeons do at home. We saw some massive two foot long eels in the pool.  Our foot step count was doing very well as we continue to act for gardens and into the Opera house.  We managed to have a look around for free and use the toilets!  We also saw a massive Australian Sea Lion who had beached himself outside of the Opera house.

We could have easily have gone back to the hotel at this stage but I suggested we take the ferry to darling harbour to stop us going to sleep but to give our legs a rest.  It was not as tacky as we expected and had an interesting Maritime Museum but needless to say it was closed. Definitely flagging now we made our way using the light train service to the Town Hall area to Chinatown where we found an excellent Malay restaurant with exceedingly hot curries.  It was after dinner that we finally gave up and went back to the hotel to bed!
Sounds like you're having a great time.
