What a night.  At exactly 3.59 AM the fire alarm sounded.  Initially there was a recorded voice that informed us that the alarm had been activated and then it got a lot louder and demanded that we evacuate immediately.  I rushed out into the corridor to see a lot of other people looking confused but in the end the alarm just stopped and we went back to bed again.  There was no explanation of why it had gone off or why it had suddenly stopped but we could not smell smoke.  It was more stressful than when we were at Amble Inn in Cervantes as we are now on the ninth floor which is actually about the 15th floor because there are a number of floors in between.

After a bit of a lie in we walked down into Manly and decided to visit the isolation hospital - Q Station - which is a Heritage site on the North Point.  We were able to use our Opal cards on the bus and then walked down to the centre.  It was fascinating but very sad.  We stopped for a quick bite to eat after exploring the museum and then managed to get a ferry for one stop back to Manly.

I think we are definitely getting tired now as we spent the rest of the late afternoon watching the films that are saved on the television but only after we had visited ‘Coles’ the supermarket for the second time today to buy our last dinner.  Final Australian meal of extra large black tiger prawns with rocket and lemon followed by a blue steak, salad and then mango with rice pudding Mmmm!  More 'interesting' films afterwards.

We are packing tomorrow morning before a 2:45 PM pick up by our chauffeur to the airport.  I am not looking forward to trying to fit all the things back into my case!
