2nd November 2017

Today we left Australia on the start of our long journey home. After 'suitcase-gate' in Exmouth I made the executive decision to pack all my dirty laundry into my rucksack and take that as my second hold luggage bag. This made for much easier packing and I was able to pack my 'finds' of shells and pebbles safely.

We were out of the apartment by 11.30 and took a final stroll along the beach to Shelly beach and enjoyed a really nice lunch at the beach restaurant. I will certainly miss wearing shorts and t shirts when we get back.

We returned to the apartment, said. out goodbyes to Jenni (the very efficient owner) and it was only a couple of minutes before out driver turned up to take us to the airport. It was a good journey with one last trip over the harbour bridge, this time not in a stress with the SatNav.

The Emirates lounge was almost as nice as the one in Heathrow and a definite improvement on the one in Dubai so it seemed rude not to partake of the food. I attempted some last minute shopping but sadly all the tasteful gifts I had spotted when traveling were nowhere to be seen so I had to settle for 4 boxes of koala bear chocolates!

Good Bye Australia!
