16th November 2017

Happy Birthday Colin.

Another day, another year. Some time before we left for Australia I bought tickets to the new attraction at the Postal Museum in town. They have opened up just a little section of the underground mail delivery train service and despite being tiny, you can just about squeeze into the carriages. It really was fascinating and very well done.

Before this I had quite a scare as Colin decided (well it was really an accident) to trip and fall face down on the pavement in Rosebery Avenue, Islington. I had just been checking the map on my phone when he literally fell face downwards and did not move. Luckily and unusually for London, three people rushed to help and Robert administered first aid. Amazingly, apart from a couple of scrazed knees (nothing worse thanks to his new jeans) and being shaken up, he had not broken anything. His watch strap broke as his arm took the brunt of his weight.

This rather started the day badly but we we continued to the museum anyway and had a heavily sugared coffee first. Afterwards it was onto Covent Garden and the very good restaurant 'Flat Iron' where we enjoyed steaks and fries. Colin recovered enough to eat a healthy portion.
