27th September 2018

Hester has to go to Masham today to teach her print making class so we were on our own for the day. We drove over to Clapham which is nothing like Claphan in London! We looked around the village and stocked up on a picnic lunch at the local store (and bought some great home made marmalade for Colin).

We then walked up the valley to the Ingleborough caves. We were lucky that there was about to be a guided walk in half an hours time so we enjoyed the sun whilst eating our picnic and then donned hard hats for the hour tour of the caves. The woman leading the tour was very interesting and it turns out that she has bought a house in Northern Spain close to where we were earlier in the year as the caving is so good in that area. It was an excellent trip and it turns out that Hester and Brian haven’t actually ever been into the caves so that was quite funny considering they live nearby.
