23rd July 2019

The weather forecast later in the week is for very hot weather so decided to go for my weekly run this morning. I’m using the C25K app still with a 5 then 8 then 5 minute run.

We enjoyed a late coffee together in the morning before we packed the car (a true test of the boot space). I drove and we went via Chertsey to pick up Chris and Mouse and their luggage. It turns out that the car can take 2 golf bags, 3 suitcases and three bits of hand luggage. The journey to Gatwick was fairly easy as was parking on the roof of the short term car park although negotiating tight turns over 5 floors in the multi-storey was a challenge.

I went to help check in the luggage, managing to bypass a jobs worth woman who wanted ID from me even though I wasn’t travelling and was not airside - my readers pass for The National Archives did the trick!

Soon I was seeing Colin and the others off through the security gates before heading back to the car (£8 for about 40 minutes parking!) and back home on my own.

It’s rather quiet this evening but Sydney’s keeping me company!

Despite dropping Colin off at 3.00pm, apparently it was manic at the North Terminal. His plane was delayed by almost three hours ( just short of compensation time) and when it did finally leave it was diverted to Alicante rather than Murcia as it was too late to land. He eventually texted his safe arrival some 12 hours after drop off at 3.00am!!
