8th April 2020

Day 16 of lock down.

What excitement - the drill bit finally arrived to enable us to drill tiles the bathroom to fit the safety handle on the bath - this is how the high points of our day are now!

As we wanted to try a walk later today I decided I’d embark on making a fish pie (to use up some of the potatoes we have) before we went out this time so it wold be ready to reheat on our return. It took my a while but I managed to clear out some old fishy bits from the freezer that have been in their for years and even made a fish and cheese sauce from scratch that tasted rather good. As we have infinite time at the moment stuck indoors I hand piped the mashed potato topping and it looks quite professional.

Our walk this evening started by us heading to the Manor Road recreation ground to look at the river which has been very high recently due to the ’super moon’ on Tuesday. We again didn’t attempt to cross the footbridge as there are so many people crossing each way it is impossible to keep a 2 meter distance. Instead we walked down past the Anglers and the new flats where Teddington studs used to be all the way down Broom Road recreation ground and to the waters edge. It was an amazing sunset as I photographed although not the best location but I think the bars to the tennis courts give a real feel of being imprisoned as we feel at the moment.

The fish pie was very nice and there’s enough left for another meal so I have frozen it and added to my stack of home made ready meals.
