10th April 2020

Day 18 of lock down.

It’s Good Friday today… not that different from the other days of the week and I actually forgot and put the bins out so they were sitting in splendid isolation outside for the entire of the day!

First task of the day was to reset the timers on two lights which I needed to do after the clocks changed and also as whatever I tried to do a couple of says ago did not work and they kept coming on at strange times! Another baking session of more biscuits in the afternoon as well.

I did mackerel with apple sauce and new potatoes for dinner this evening- one of Colin’s favourites and a good source of Omega 3 as well. We delayed our walk until after dinner today and I have to say it was pretty quiet apart from one or two joggers - well behaved and dog walkers. We saw a lot of cats and a fox cub. This is a sign outside my old ‘Fat Fighters’ class location at the Salvation Army building in Church Road.

8,958 dead in the UK (up 980)

For the record there have been 70,272 cases in the UK in hospital or discharged - but this is not counting people who did not need to go to hospital so we are very probably in the hundreds of thousands. The number of people who have died from Covid19 is also lower than the actual figure will be as the official daily figures do not include those who have died in care homes or outside of hospital as they will need both a Post Mortem and virus test done at a later date.
