7th February 2021

Day 326 since the start of the 1st lock down.

My 53rd birthday was in lock down this year. Last year we escaped to Malaga and Ronda for some winter sun and it was warm enough to sit outside without a jacket enjoying a chilled beer. Today the snow whirled around but not quite enough to pitch for photographing and it was bitterly cold.

Parcels and cards have been arriving fro the past few days which Colin has been squirrelling away for me. Despite telling people not to worry getting me anything I got some lovely gifts including a lot of chocolate, a Lapiz Lazuli bracelet, handmade jewellery from Mum, mugs, set of lounge pyjamas and books. The election of cards was brilliant - especially the lock down specific designs for this year.

What was also really lovely was that there were also a number of visitors

It was so cold that although I had hoped to walk to Ham House as I had not been able to make a booking, we stayed at home in the warm and tested the chocolate. I had a nice chat with Mum although we did not have that much news to tell each other!

Colin was on steak duty in the evening and I knocked up a seafood starter and we enjoyed bottle of our favourite wine as well. For a birthday during lock-down it was very nice.
