16th April 2021

1 year, 22 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020.

Colin was at golf this morning so I cracked on with starting tome up the cards for Teddington Waterstones and managed to deliver them in the afternoon which isa good turnaround.

I faced up to contacting one of the apartments I had booked for Switzerland in June. I am thinking there is a high chance we will not be able to go because of the traffic light system being introduced next month and the fact that Switzerlands Covid rates are slowly increasing and their rate of vaccination is low at the moment. I am concerned as the booking conditions said anything paid was non-refundable. However I carefully worded a message and the reply was so good. I will continue to pay the next instalment but can move my booking to next year and the dates have been reserved for me just in case.

In the afternoon we finally collected my engagement ring which has been with Lawrence the jeweller since November as Tier 4 and the lock down meant I could not collect it. It is amazing, looks brand new and I can get in on and off now. Sadly after much discussion it as decided that my wedding ring should also be cut off and slightly enlarged as it definitely will not come off by itself. I have literally never taken the ring off since our wedding day on the 12th of April 2003 so it was quite a wrench but I know it is the right thing to do.
