2nd May 2021

1 year, 38 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020.

Back at home today and first thing in the morning I washed my muddy wellies and then rinsed my finds. Now I have had a proper chance to look at what I found, I am very pleased. Still no pipe bowls although I found parts of bowls and the beginning of a bowl with a T and D on it which I managed to research and discover that the pipe was made by a pipe maker called Thomas Dormer who created pipes in London between 1750-1780’s. In addition there were pieces of very old terracotta tile where a grey centre indicates they are well over 300 years old.

We watched Simon Calder as usual on Sunday and he ended up on the beach by the Thames as well.

The end of the day we settled down in good time for the final part of series 6 of Line of Duty as did most of the country did as well. In the event I was a little disappointed and it is only since I have had a chance to think properly that I can see that Jed Mercurio the writer was trying to do - to make a statement about the state of British politics. I really hope there will be another series although this may turn out to be the last ever after 10 years.
