9th July 2021

1 year, 105 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

We went though our plans for Spain possibly in September this year but I am somewhat nervous about booking anything as their rates of Covid are aa high as ours and they are currently Amber but it could go red. The car hire price has also gone through the roof from under £400 to over £800 which is rather off putting. We wait a bit longer. The rates of Covid in the UK are back to the same high levels that they were in January this year although the good news is that the numbers in hospital and the death rate each year are far lower than January. Hopefully this is the sign that the vaccination program is having a positive effect.

In the afternoon I prepped and printed two little photos for Karen of Stanley and Maddie who were sadly put to sleep last week as they were very old with a number of health complications, it was very sad.

I made a large pan of spaghetti bolognese in the afternoon to freeze to take on our trip to Suffolk in a couple of days. I also continued working on my email to Waterstones in Twickenham…
