27th August 2021

1 year, 153 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

Today I planned a trip to Osterley House to show Mum and Ian. We have made this journey a number of times and I’ve always turned left onto the A4 towards Hounslow. However in case I got distracted by conversation in the car, I was using my phone SatNav. It suggested a different route which I followed - big mistake! We drove for quite sometime before it sent me up a narrow track towards Osterley stables! There were no turning spaces so I had to reverse back all the way with helpful driving advance from the front and back!! I was very relieved to eventually arrive in the car park.

We walked around the gardens and enjoyed an excellent picnic I’d put together on the benches outside. This is ‘Team Cornwall’ striking a Stallwood pose outside one of the summer houses.

After lunch we explored the house although only the downstairs was accessible. There was an amazing Sikh wedding photo session going on outside with 3 photographers and a videographer. We also found where all the Egyptian geese have gone too - Osterley House - there were lodes of them!
