29th August 2021

1 year, 155 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

Mum and Ian headed home this morning hoping to avoid the traffic unlike last Friday when it took them over 9 hours to get here. I packed them off with lunch. It was sad to see them go and it was nice to have spent a decent amount of time together, although my catering repertoire was getting stretched a little thin!

In the afternoon we headed over to our friend Janice’s house for afternoon tea. Sadly her husband Jerry passed away a few months ago which was really sad. I was very fond of him. Friends of theirs and Colin - Geoff and Margi - we’re also invited and Janice excelled herself yet again with hot freshly backed scones with jam and cream and a large Victoria sponge cake.

I was shattered by the evening and this is me feeling rather chilly, watching a great new drama - Vigil.
