14th January 2022

1 year, 285 since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020.

O. M. G. My alarm was set for 4.20AM!!

I actually did not sleep well at all, partly because I had indigestion, partly because i was worried about fog that was forecast for the early morning and partly because I was worried about not hearing my alarm! In the event I woke up earlier than the alarm and decided to get up at 4.10am. I put on clothes from yesterday and could not face tea or breakfast because basically it was still the night. Pingado hamster looked very shocked to see me at that hour.

Mum and Ian were up so I went to get the car ready. Luckily the weather forecast proved to be as accurate as usual and there was no fog although there was a very thick hard frost which proved quite difficult to scrape off the car. We eventually left at 4.50am as the flight departure was scheduled for 7.20am and we wanted to allow the 2-hour lead time to allow for all paperwork to be checked and for Mum and Ian to get some breakfast - I was hoping that more places would be open than when we travelled on an evening flight to Lisbon and had a very rushed bad meal at Wagamamas as the only place open ni the entire of Terminal 5. Our journey was very good with little traffic and a clear route. The only hiccup was when I approached the drop off area and due to multiple designs and despite having been there before, I ended up driving into the short stay car park instead! Never mind, actually it was a little easier and I stopped across the parking bays so that Mum and Ian could get the pier directly up to the departure lounge.

I then had to get out down many spiral exit routes and navigate back avoiding the many massive lorries delivering to Heathrow. I made tot home just by 5.55am just as Mum called to say they had checked in and cleared security and were now a sitting in Giraffe wearing for breakfast. It was so early that I had a nap on the sofa for a couple of hours.

A little later (or actually a lot later for me), I decided to be brave and return to Fat Fighters after Christmas. I was amazed to find that after some more sensible eating for a week or so, I am the same weight as my last weight in in December - result but quite a bit to lose before our trip to Norway in late March to ensure my lined thermal ski trousers fit!

In the afternoon I wrapped Charley and James presents for when we hopefully see them tomorrow evening for their birthday meal.

We went to bed fairly early this evening!
