23rd April 2022

2 years and 29 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

Happy St George's Day.

I was up at a good time as I needed to get over to Whitton for the very last shot for my calendar! I wasn’t happy with the station signage and so wanted to catch it from a different angle. In the event, although I got the shot, as the road was closed for St George’s day celebrations, by chance I noticed a great sign on the road which will now be the central image of November featuring Whitton!

Back on the bus to Twickenham via Waitrose for lunch, sunflower oil which it is threatened will be in short supply soon because most of it is grown in the Ukraine. The cost of our usual margarine has gone up by 75p - everything is a lot more expensive. I went to catch the bus home only to find York Street is closed the traffic causing mayhem and delayed buses. I did manage to get back in time for a spot of lunch and then headed over to the Landmark food my fourth and penultimate session of stewarding the shop.

Back home again and this being it was checking Colin and Chris into their second accommodation, this time in Ypres - it looks lovely and the couple who own it seem very kind as well.
