31st May 2022

2 years and 64 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

Oh dear. Talk about stress, my print delivery by courier was due this morning and I waited patiently until I received a message telling me it had been delivered but to our neighbour at number 23. Seemed weird as I had been in the entire time but shot around to collect it to find out that it was not there and indeed the photo supplied was nit our next door neighbours house. I was fuming and contacted the company who at first declared it had been delivered there but then relented and claimed maybe it was delivered to the nearby road… I walked quickly around but the address given and the photo did not match despite me knocking and asking. I was literally fuming as this is the first time I have used a courier service and DPD have not had the best reputation as they smashed two previous frame deliveries from a particular company so in the end I had to change the framing company I use.

In the end I had a promise that the courier would return to wherever they had actually delivered my prints to and would absolutely and definitely deliver between three and four this afternoon.

We had booked tickets see Downton Abbey the movie at Esher so had to leave around the same time. The film was very good although I think it would help if you have seen the actual series. It nicely wrapped up all the storylines and I think this will be the last film now. Afterwards there was a rainbow which I take as a god sign.

Just was we were tucking into a rather ‘pokey’ Thai curry at the Giggling Squid in Esher, I received a text from my neighbour who had finally received the prints on my behalf… at 7.30pm. It turns out that the courier company never did come and redeliver them but the chap who had received the delivery had brought them around specially and probably having seen the very shirty note I had left on my door, took them around to explain to my neighbour. It is totally not his fault and I am very grateful to him for taking the time to bring them to me. Just a pity as I never did find out exactly where he lives to go and thank him!
