It was rather grey today but the highlight was an invitation to my friend Ann’s 70th birthday celebration at Caffé Mamma in Kew. We had no idea who would have been invited but in the event, the fact we met two friends from photo club at Teddington station we realised we’d know quite a few people.
It was a little like an informal meeting of the photo club! It was very nice to share a glass of bubbly and have a good chat and Ann’s table plan meant that we were sitting next to good friends from the Club. Food was nice but less so the expensive service charge on a bottle of wine - I even poured it myself.
The evening culminated with the arrival of an impressive cake with hand painted humming birds on made by deer partner Will’s niece. What a lovely evening and we felt honoured to be invited and even came home by taxi rather than bus or train which was a luxury thanks to friends Fred and Gill.
