15th December 2022

Today’s the day of my photo club Christmas social whichI have been preparing from for a few months. In the mooring I cooked two kilos of potatoes and made a potato salad trying a new recipe this time with spring onions, Creme Fraiche and dijon mustard. I also whisked up a Victoria Sponge cake and heated a quiche (cheating as it was reduced from Waitrose). I had a lot of things to bring - cutlery, napkins, crackers, a roll of paper table covering and the sturdy recyclable plates and bowls from Nisbetts catering store.

We got there early enough to have to unlock the church and then it was hard work as I had to find and bring up 4 large tables in the lift. Others started arriving to help and just before 8.00pm everything was ready. The salmon was the centre piece and brought by Jay and Robert.

It was a long evening with a quiz (not by me) which was just a little too long. At least I managed a couple of cups of wine as Colin promised to drive back. We then had to get everyone out and reverse the process and lock up! A success but hard work.
