4th November 2024

Off to Kingston first thing to try and get the euros from John Lewis that was closed on Thursday! Yet again they were closed first thing but with the promise that they would open by 12.00pm. I managed to get a pair of jeans to replace my holes one, two chocolate advent calendars and after a cup of coffee and cake in All Saints Church which was very peaceful as a pianist was practicing for a recital a little later in the day so very nice to have live music whilst I waited for the currency exchange to open!

I finally got our currency and as I was eating home on the bus, Julia from Card Collection confirmed the designs that needed topping up so I did a rapid turnaround to make up 44 greeting cards and the associated paperwork before making lunch.

Afterwards I decided we should finally take Colin’s massive framed family tree back to the framers for the mount to be repaired which was a bit of an effort as it is so big we had to put the back seat down and also it is impossible to stop outside of the framers so I had to lug it across the road. Afterwards I drove straight onto the Card Collection to deliver the cards, back via Tesco’s and then home to finish packing for my trip tomorrow.
