14th May 2013

Today it was cold and it rained.

This is a reflection of Kingston upon Thames in shiny granite on the side of a bank, taken whilst I waited for my visiting sister to use the cash point.

It features a view of John Lewis (my favourite department store) and also surreally a giant ice cream cornet in direct contrast to the weather!
What a great capture of a reflection--it seems to match the rainy day, while the ice cream cone is a sign (one hopes) of better weather to come. I love to take photographs in the rain--everything looks different wet.

Interesting look - seems to have elongated everything!

@tristansmum I do like photographing in the rain - great fro reflections - although on this occasion I wanted to show my sister around Kingston and the rain did not show it at its best!!

@maggiemae You are right, I hadn't really noticed it before, either that or the locals are all very tall and slim!

Great shot, particularly like the little ice cream cone!
