27th June 2013

I had my sunglasses shot all planned when my husband found this beauty in the back garden.

It is a female Stag Beetle and quite endangered in some parts of the country. She had somehow dropped into a box and caught him by surprise when he was shifting stuff by the garage. She was happy to pose before we put her on a pile of logs and rocks that we have built for our toads and stag beetles.
Great close up so sharp and clear amazing detail.

This a lovely macro, Emma, a fav for me. How nice of you and your husband to have created a place for your toads and stag beetles. Thanks for caring!
