Memories......

I went into the garden for my happy snap today - a fungus I haven't seen here before. However there, glowing in the morning sunlight was this very common, ordinary fuchsia. My mind was taken over by the memory of my aged parents in their unit in Adelaide. They planted this bush and the New Holland Honeyeaters absolutely adored it. Many happy hours were spent watching their antics as they fought for the nectar and enjoyed bathing and drinking from bowls put out for them. I made sure I propagated that plant.
I often ponder the power of sights, sounds and aromas to trigger powerful memories.
The flower has a beautiful structure to it, highlighted by this shot. Nice story to accompany the shot too.

Such a lovely shot, and great that these flowers trigger such nice memories. It amazing how a sight, song, or smell can bring up a memory.

A beautiful image and I do agree with your narrative. I have two highly perfumed roses in the garden, one a cutting from a beautiful rose in my mother-in-laws garden and another from a rose she planted after the death of her husband. They both evoke wonderful memories of two amazing people and are always referred to as Mum and Dads Roses.
