Le Pardon : the religious procession

There is a different traditional dress for each area in Brittany. Our area is called "le Tregor". We have a traditional association in our village that teaches traditional embroidery skills, together with traditional music, dance and language. People of all ages feel concerned by the conservation and display of the traditional culture in Brittany.

The picture shows one of our village neighbours carrying the statue of the Patron Saint, and some young girls carrying banners during the procession after the Mass.
It is special to have such a tradition, and to also manage to keep it alive.

It's wonderful to see your village so involved with it's traditions and their conservation. A special touch was the little girls in their lovely costumes - and the middle girl in her thongs.,,,
