Resilience by eudora

Resilience

The Katrina rose is not the prettiest rose, but it may be the most resilient. Also called Peggy Martin, it survived a 2-week submersion in salt water after Hurricane Katrina. Cuttings were sold to help with hurricane relief.

Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 have been disasters that shaped our lives, so now we are comparing the coronavirus to those times. As I remember Katrina, I've been going through my few photos and binge watching Treme on HBO.

Hope everyone is well.

I love the story of this rose and it’s beautiful in it’s own way. It is a good reminder that we will get through this too. Stay well.

This rose is a testimony to how resilience is borne out of adversity. I just noticed a garden center today has set up a way to order Spring flowers on a website- sort of like the take-out style of restaurants. Smart man- beautiful rose!
