All quiet at the state capitol

All week, there have been warnings of election protests at the state capitols, beginning today. Coward that I am, I waited until late afternoon to venture downtown. There was no evidence that a crowd had been there.
I have to say I think this looks pretty deserted. There’s still a couple of days for it to blow up though. I don’t mean that literally.

You're not a coward at all. Heard in a meeting today that there are credible threats to churches too, especially if they're near capitols. One of my favorite churches is right across the street from the Georgia capitol. Sigh.

Better safe than sorry. You did the right thing. Beautiful capture of this magnificent building. Nice lighting too.

@grammyn @moviegal1 @margonaut @bkbinthecity @sangwann Thanks for your comments. The paper this morning said the demonstrations in Baton Rouge this weekend, and at most other state capitols, were minimal. Hope the inauguration is peaceful, too.

Let's hope it stays that way

Smart thinking. I was going to pick something up from my son’s apartment in Arlington a couple days ago. I waited until 7 p.m. but the traffic was a mess as they’ve closed four of the bridges into DC. Told him we’d have to wait a few weeks.

I hope all remains calm. Cool image to show off this impressive building.

@wiesnerbeth I felt like a wimp, worrying about Baton Rouge when tI see photos of the DC area. I hope there is no more violence.

Hope that the quiet remains across the country. Impressive image.

@eudora You’re not wimp! Violence is violence no matter where it happens.
