What a lovely look into the back waters of Louisiana.

I have a friend who’s leaving out of NOLA on a cruise next week and I told her about your pictures of the low waters of the Mississippi. I hope it won’t delay their departure in any way but we talked about all the neat things you had photographed because of that low water

Oh my goodness, this just led me down a rabbit hole! There used to be a restaurant on the Tchefuncta in Madisonville that had the best gumbo in the world. We would bring it back to Atlanta when visiting after we moved. Anyway, in looking for it I came upon a video of Chef Pat Gallagher, who began his career at the Winners Circle (Home of the 10 cent oyster!) just up the road from where we lived in Folsom, LA. We were regulars. Those were the days. I still drool thinking about Pat's bread pudding.

Wow- what happened here?! Is that due to low water?
