My grandson's school joined with other volunteers to plant trees on a New Orleans golf course that was damaged by Hurricane Katrina. BTW, that is not my grandson. I did not want to embarrass him by tagging along with his group!
The project was sponsored by Soul (Sustaining Our Urban Landscape) and the golf course/green space (I saw more birds than golfers) is in Pontchartrain Park, a historically Black neighborhood listed on the National Register of Historic Places. I think Dr. King would have approved.
Great idea for a project. I would have to agree- this is the kind of thing Dr. King would want to see- all kinds of people working together to better their world. I like the candid aspect of this shot.
